We achieve the Made Green in Italy certification
An achievement that rewards sustainability, innovation, and efficiency
We have obtained the “Made Green in Italy” certification from the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security for our raw cast iron product, in accordance with the Product Category Rules for “Iron Castings.”
The certification is based on the European PEF (Product Environmental Footprint) methodology and attests to the sustainability of the company’s production cycle, which has achieved the highest performance level, with an environmental class A rating. This result places FMG among the first Italian foundries to obtain this important recognition.
The certified product is manufactured at our Gavardo (BS) plant, using electric induction furnaces and production techniques focused on efficiency and circular economy. More than 64% of the material used comes from recycled sources, thanks to the careful selection of scrap and internal casting waste (risers).
We are proud to be among the first foundries in Italy to obtain this important certification, which reflects a path strongly focused on sustainability. Made Green in Italy confirms our ability to maintain full control over the sourcing and processing of raw materials, as well as our ongoing commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of our industrial operations.
