On a handbike, we support Maurizio’s journey from Piazza della Loggia (Brescia) to the North Cape

Relying only on the strength of his arms, Maurizio will travel nearly 4,000 kilometers in about forty days on a handbike. We are proud to support the impossible mission of Maurizio Antonini, 56, co-founder of Active Sport, which will become possible thanks to his determination and strength of character.

Although his disability forced him to use a wheelchair, it has never taken away his dreams and ambitions, including the desire to embark on such a journey. In previous years he had already undertaken shorter experiences, but his dream has always been the North Cape, and now he will make it a reality.

“Difficulties,” he explains, “exist for everyone, but we must learn to look beyond them. Some dreams are impossible, others are only impossible in our minds. We must not surrender to our situation or see it as a limit, but continue to focus on what we can still do, even from a wheelchair.”

The departure, in the presence of authorities, friends and supporters, took place on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 9:00 am.

Maurizio Antonini’s entire journey can be followed on the Instagram and Facebook pages (Mission Possibile Handbike) created specifically for the experience, with regular updates from each stage of the trip.
The Collaboration with Active Sport

For more than 10 years, we have enthusiastically supported the projects of Active Sport and its sports activities dedicated to people who have experienced disabling physical trauma. We share their mission: to enable more and more people with disabilities to practice sports—both recreational and competitive—free of charge, promoting social inclusion and an active lifestyle.

Active Sport, founded and run by people with motor disabilities, is today a national reference point for Paralympic sports activities, including wheelchair tennis, handbike, swimming, badminton and sailing.

Activities are open to everyone—men, women and children—who wish to begin a recreational or competitive sports path.

We are also Main Sponsor of the international wheelchair tennis tournament “Camozzi Open – Memorial Cav. Attilio Camozzi”, which hosts athletes from all over the world.
