Fifth edition of Italy’s largest digital marathon: 50 startups competing in the final

On October 23 and 24, for the first time, the DigithON event was broadcast entirely via live streaming on www.digithon.it
The announcement of the 2020 edition winners is scheduled for October 31 starting at 10:00 am, with speeches by Ministers Paola Pisano and Francesco Boccia.

Italy’s largest digital marathon did not stop despite the health emergency and returned with a completely digital format.
A total of 50 startups were selected by the Scientific Committee from more than 400 applications from across Italy.
The DigithON 2020 Prize includes a €10,000 award, offered as every year by Confindustria Bari and BAT, as well as several additional recognitions: scholarships, cash prizes, and acceleration programs provided by partner companies, for a total value exceeding €50,000.

The finalist ideas for the 2020 edition span different sectors and technologies, ranging from artificial intelligence to blockchain, from augmented reality to 3D printing, with particular attention to business, health, and environmental topics.
Many projects focus on healthcare, offering innovative solutions in early diagnosis and prevention, medical assistance and consulting, monitoring of vital parameters, and biomedicine.

The mission of DigithON continues to be that of a launch pad for the best digital ideas, creating a bridge between the financial world and startups, and promoting the most promising proposals among the hundreds of applications received.

The DigithON 2020 winners will be announced on October 31. On this occasion, Francesco Boccia, Minister for Regional Affairs and Autonomies, and Paola Pisano, Minister for Technological Innovation and Digitalization, will take part in the event, interviewed by journalist Barbara Carfagna.

Also this year, as in 2019, the Camozzi Group is a partner of the initiative.
Mirco Chiodi, Head of the Camozzi Research Center in Milan, spoke on Saturday, October 24, with a presentation titled “Camozzi Group: when innovation becomes reality”, illustrating the Group’s latest developments in digital innovation.
