Camozzi Group plant in Polpenazze
Milan, May 8, 2023 – The Shareholders’ Meeting of Camozzi Group, one of the leading international players in industrial automation, advanced manufacturing, and Industrial Internet of Things systems, has approved the 2022 consolidated financial statements.

  • Revenues reached €534 million (+17%), EBITDA amounted to €93 million (+13%), and net profit rose to €35 million (+46%)
  • Exports accounted for 77% of total revenues
  • Investments increased to €58 million (+23%), including the Timken industrial site

The Group closed the year with consolidated revenues of €534 million, up 17% compared to €455 million in 2021. International revenues accounted for 77% of the total, while Italy alone generated 23%. Overall, revenue distribution by geographic area was as follows: EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) 77%, Americas 15%, and APAC (Asia Pacific) 8%.

EBITDA amounted to €93 million, compared to €82 million in 2021 (+13%).

Net profit reached €35 million, up 46% from €24 million in 2021.

The Group generated a cash flow of €86 million, compared to €68 million in 2021 (+26%).

Investments totaled €58 million, compared to €47 million in 2021, marking an increase of 23% year-on-year.

Investments in Research and Development amounted to €16 million (approximately 3% of revenues), up from €13.5 million in 2021. The Group currently collaborates with 11 universities, 6 technology partners, 3 institutions, and 4 centers of excellence to develop innovative systems in the fields of mechatronics, IIoT 4.0, 3D printing, and artificial intelligence solutions.

Development of the Camozzi Research Center (CRC), located in the former Innocenti area on Via Rubattino in Milan, is also progressing. The CRC is not only the Group’s research center but is increasingly designed to become a center of technological excellence and a national and international benchmark for the development of smart manufacturing, in line with advanced European Industry 5.0 models. At its core is the idea of creating a “factory-laboratory,” where students, researchers, and industry professionals can experiment with some of the most advanced technologies in the world and launch applied research projects in collaboration with the Group.

Investments in R&D and high-tech solutions also enable Camozzi Group to address the major challenge of environmental sustainability with increasing determination—both in terms of energy efficiency and the materials used in production processes, as well as through the development of solutions aimed at promoting fully circular production models. In 2022, over €5 million was invested in photovoltaic systems to further increase the self-generation of renewable energy. By the end of 2023, total installed capacity is expected to exceed 9 MW.

Among the most significant events of the past year was the acquisition of the Timken Italia industrial site in Villa Carcina (February 2022), where substantial investments in advanced technologies are currently underway to support the development and expansion of the Automation Division.

The average number of employees reached 3,023, compared to 2,956 in 2021. At the beginning of 2023, Camozzi LINK—the Group’s Corporate Academy—was launched with the aim of facilitating the sharing of internal technical know-how across all divisions and supporting employee development through continuous training, including classroom activities, on-the-job learning, and e-learning courses.

The 2022 results confirm that, even in a complex macroeconomic scenario, the Group continues to achieve significant growth, driven primarily by its R&D policies and strong investments in technological innovation. These enable us to remain a fast, dynamic player, capable of interpreting and anticipating market trends and proactively responding to the growing demand for flexibility and customization from our customers. At the core of our corporate vision lies the firm belief that technology has value only when it serves people and society. Innovation is not merely a technical matter—it must be the synthesis of diverse forms of knowledge, starting with the humanities. This is a concept I like to define as “technological humanism,” which also underpins our Corporate Academy, where we promote continuous and cross-disciplinary learning for all our people, ensuring we are increasingly prepared and agile in facing and leading future challenges.
