Applied and sustainable research

The research areas of the Camozzi Research Center are rooted in real-world industrial needs and fully aligned with the principles of Industry 5.0: advanced technology, sustainability, and human-centric innovation.
These are not abstract domains, but strategic application pathways—carefully selected to generate tangible value across the entire production chain.

Industrial Automation and Robotics

We research, design, and develop advanced solutions for industrial automation, integrating components, systems, and technologies to make production processes increasingly efficient, safe, and sustainable.

Our activities follow two main directions. On one hand, we focus on developing next-generation smart devices for collaborative robotics. On the other, we design advanced algorithms—such as virtual sensing—to enhance system performance and make our components even smarter.

Digitalization, Mechatronics, and Electronics

We place data at the core of our research, designing digital and mechatronic solutions that make systems intelligent, connected, and efficient.
We leverage advanced technologies such as machine learning and generative artificial intelligence to optimize performance and enable predictive maintenance.
In 3D printing, we work on our proprietary printers developed by Ingersoll Machine Tools, creating algorithms, sensor systems, and digital twins to improve process control, minimize errors, and maximize efficiency.

Materials

Materials research is central to the development of innovative industrial products that are lighter, stronger, and more sustainable.
We study and test new composites and engineering polymers to improve performance and durability, even under extreme conditions.
In the field of additive manufacturing, we analyze material properties and optimize deposition processes to achieve components with ever-improving performance.
This deep expertise in materials enables us to develop more sustainable processes and deliver tailored solutions to the market.
